If needed, don’t hesitate to call 911.
Health & Safety
Silverton is very remote. There is no hospital, clinic, or pharmacy in town. Make sure you have any medications with you prior to your last leg of the trip to Silverton. Durango is a good place to get anything you may have forgotten to bring from home.
Waste Disposal
Trash will be picked up at the end of the 2-week retreat. If you need to remove any accumulated trash prior to that, the dump is open on Wednesdays & Saturdays, 10am–6pm.

Building Quirks
To open the main door from the street to the upstairs apartments, pull door handle toward you, press down, then push in.
Watch your step!
The main staircase is old and slanted! Use the handrail.
The rise of the steps in the basement studio are higher than standard sized steps.
Be careful not to lock yourself out of your apartment!
Studio Supplies
Because TRP @ 1303 is a borrowed space, the studio is light on supplies and equipment. The retreat is not focused on intensive making or physical output; instead, it is time for you to undertake research, connect with peers, explore the area, and absorb inspiration for your work. A flexible and resourceful studio plan that takes advantage of what is available to you at the time will likely prove to be the most rewarding.
The best time to get them any supplies you need is before you arrive in Silverton. There is a Home Depot and an art supply store in Durango.
You are also welcome to have materials shipped to the residency location. Please send to:
